Automating shift-wise utilization reports for JCBs and earth movers with Power BI and Power Automate
The Challenge
Every JCB and earth mover carries a sensor that records engine time and arm movements. Turning that data into daily reports was done by hand: two downloads, manual shift calculations and a separate email for every vendor. It was slow, and one wrong attachment could send a vendor someone else's data.
Our Solution
Power Automate collects the data into SharePoint each day, Power BI calculates engine, idle and productive hours for every shift, and a paginated report emails each vendor and yard a PDF with only their machines.
